I’d Rather Be a Tree Than a Flower

Flowers bend and break depending on the weather
Pretty petals in their youth, disguise their fragile core
Slightest frost, their colour fades, imminent decay

Trees stand strong and proud, braving violent storms
Armour-plated bark covers hordes of hidden layers
Leaves may fall, branches may break, but colour soon returns

I’d rather be a tree than a flower
So why do I feel like a flower
pretending to be a tree
